Who Are 100 Demons? Connecticut Hardcore Since 1998
If you've ever watched a 100 Demons crowd pile onto the stage to grab the mic, you know this isn't a band people listen to quietly. But who are 100 Demons, and where does the name come from? Here's a quick guide for new fans and old ones.
Where does the name 100 Demons come from?
The members are tattoo fans, and they took the name from 100 Demons, a book of traditional Japanese tattoo art by the master tattooist Horiyoshi III. That's why samurai, dragons and demon masks turn up all over our designs.
Where are 100 Demons from?
Waterbury, Connecticut, the city nicknamed the Brass City. The band formed there in 1998, and their first album is still called a Connecticut hardcore classic.
Who is in 100 Demons?
Today the band is Pete Morcey on vocals, Rich Rosa on drums, Jeremy Braddock and Rick Brayall on guitar, and Sean Martin on bass. Sean played guitar in the band's first year and came back on bass after longtime bassist Erik Barrett, a member since 2000, passed away in 2024.
What do 100 Demons sound like?
Heavy. Their music sits between metalcore and the slow, crushing end of hardcore: big riffs, breakdowns and vocals that sound like every word is meant.
