The Albums and Art Behind the Designs

· The Band

Our designs don't come from nowhere. Most of them point back to a 100 Demons record, to the tattoo book that gave the band its name, or to the Connecticut scene they came from. Here's the story behind the prints.

In the Eyes of the Lord (2000)

The band's first album came out in 2000 and is still called a Connecticut hardcore classic. Its crucifix-and-mourners artwork under a blood-red sky is on several of our designs. Look out for We Are Forsaken and Hardluck too: Forsaken and Hard Luck are both songs on that record.

100 Demons (2004)

The self-titled second album followed in 2004 on Deathwish Inc. After that, it would be more than twenty years before the next one.

Embrace the Black Light (2026)

The wait ended in 2026 with Embrace the Black Light on Closed Casket Activities. The designs with the blackletter album title, the bat demon and the Closed Casket Activities sunburst all come from this new chapter.

The tattoo roots

The name comes from 100 Demons, a book of Japanese tattoo art by Horiyoshi III. That's where the samurai, the dragon fight and the demon masks come from: art that would look just as good on skin.

Connecticut hardcore

Then there are the crests: CTHC on a skull, Connecticut H.C. under an ace of spades, and a hundred-dollar bill that reads One Hundred Demons. They're for everyone who calls that scene home.
